Clean Sweep

Moving sucks. There's no way to sugarcoat or mitigate that reality. And moving over the holidays, just after losing a job... well, even with a bow on top, moving still sucks.
However, I embrace the clean sweep. I started 2025 with a brand spanking new job and a brand spanking new house. I'm teaching again! My life currently feels like a fresh spiral notebook, its pages still smooth and unmarked by the press of ink and pen. What, oh what will I write in my notebook?
Perhaps I will begin by expressing the immense gratitude I feel for the DOZENS of people who have had my back—and my kids' backs—over the past few years, allowing us to finally settle into a fitting space. I can't imagine what I would have done without you. Family, friends who are like family, colleagues and professionals with hearts of sparkling magic . . . you know who you are. You are the ones who make small differences in the lives of others. I'm here to tell you that those small differences can accumulate into something significant. Thank you. I love you.

It's time to fill my notebook with stories of transforming this house into my home.
Stories of creating opportunities with my kids, helping them launch into their own fulfilling lives.
Stories of teaching and learning at a new, alternative school where reforms I've long dreamed of implementing are already in practice.
Stories of making ends meet, as I'm still figuring out how to do it.
And stories of finally learning to love myself.
Don't forget, Glow Getters, your stories are part of this adventure as well! Something tells me many of us are writing about the same themes. Notebooks at the ready!
