Remembered by Dust - Preface

I wrote a book. Well, technically, I’ve written books before, but not seriously like this. Over the past year I finally sat down to write my memoir. Me being me, that somehow morphed into a Midrash (gospel retelling) in verse, weaving together both autobiographical and universal narratives. I don’t always know how these things happen; I just know to roll with them when they do.

Remembered by Dust is my way of reclaiming faith and story from those who weaponize them. Christianity was my first language, but it’s only one piece of a much larger puzzle. Literature, mathematics, myth, and other traditions each cast their shadows on the same cave wall.

Our narrator, Dust, is a speck of stardust who remembers what we might have forgotten, carrying the patterns of faith, science, and story. Each week, I’ll release a new chapter, letting the story unfold slowly—like constellations appearing in the night sky.

For this first installment, I’m sharing the preface: my author’s note, Dust’s letter to readers, and a table of contents to preview what’s ahead. I’m excited to begin this journey with you. Enjoy!
